Developing a relationship with birds is easier than you would think It takes a little patience and a lot of love. Within minutes of meeting your new family addition, they have already won your heart, so the level of trust has already begun.
The Sun and Jenday Conures are quite beautiful and are quite accomplished little acrobats, while their speaking ability is limited to a high pitch mumble. Their loudness level should also be a consideration for apartment dwellers.
The Umbrella Cockatoo is not as well known for its speaking capabilities, they more than make up for it with their affection. Always eager to shower you with kisses and hugs, these guys demand your attention. Don't come home from a long day at the office and expect to relax, oh no, this little guy will dance and do tricks for you.
The great Macaws. What can I say, my absolute favorite of the bird world.. Rated 2 for the best talking ability, these guys are not shy. Always chattering. Will mumble when learning a new phrase, as though to practice, so not to disappoint you.
The African Grey, WOW! The best talkers around. Will change their voice to sound like family members or your favorite actor or actress. When it comes to performing for your dinner guests, look out, these guys refuse to perform upon command. Very shy, but extremely affectionate.
Parrotlets. These pint sized parrots are feisty, full of spunk and affection, while they can be great talkers. Noise level, none. They very seldom sing, just play and entertain themselves. Often referred to as the pocket parrot.
Moluccan Cockatoo. What an absolutely beautiful creature! Loves affection and gives as much as they receive, sometimes more. Great talkers. But watch out for the family heirlooms, they are quite accomplished chewers. And hey, what's yours is theirs!
Lesser/Medium Sulphur Crestted Cockatoo. What a joy to be around. Little clowns. Always doing a new trick to get your attention and ready to shower you with kisses before you ask! And what a display, and are they ever proud to show you their crown of gold!
Goffin Cockatoo. Wow! What a big bird in alittle package! So much energy and personality. The only problem with these guys, one is never enough! You always want another one!
